A Concert with a difference

Sat 27 June 7.30pm St Peter’s, Inkberrow
Come & Sing Concert
Can you hear the people sing
For more information about the programme for this concert see below
This is a concert with a difference. Two years ago, the Elgar Chorale tried to make choral music with audience participation. The first half of the concert was music by sung as usual by the Chorale. Then in the second half, we invited the audience to sing with us some numbers from the musical Oklahoma, including Oh what a beautiful morning, although the title of the concert was “Oh what a beautiful evening“! The choir and the audience were both in fine voice, with refreshments in the interval, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
This year we hope to build on this success and invite you to join us in singing some of the numbers from Les Miserables and other songs. Peter Shepherd is returning as our organist and pianist and we will be singing items such as Handel’s Zadok the Priest, Parry’s I was glad and fun pieces such as Geographical Fugue by Ernst Toch and John Rutter’s Banquet Fugue.
